im going to adopt a cat somewhere in FT lauderdale,Florida. and its my first time..i was wondering do i bring the cage or will they supply it to me....and how much will the fee cost?? im probably getting a kitten of or a middle aged cat
Who was the millionaire that turned his mansion into a cat adoption center?
I saw a story on the news or ACA a while back about a rich guy who turned his mansion into a cat haven where he employed people to look after hundreds of cats and adopt them out. I cant remember his name though. If anyone knows anything about it please let me know. I'm really interested in what he did.
Help!! Where is the best place that I can find to help with cat adoption?
I have seven cats that need placement quickly The owner of the cats wants to put them down, but they are great cats. All are just over one year old except the mother cat who is one and a half. All have feline herpes, so a special home with no other cats or cats that already have feline herpes is needed If we take them to a shelter they will just be put down due the the feline herpes. What sites are helpful for this? ThanksThey are not my cats I wish I could take them but My roommate has dogs. When they were first born I found homes for all of them mom is a semi feral stray and was already preg. When rescued. The owner decided to keep them because no one wanted them after the herpes diagnosis. They haven't had an outbreak since, but the owner is allergic and now can't take care of them. I was hoping to take three myself after moving, but now the owner wants them gone by July, and will only take them to a kill shelter because there isn't a no kill anywhere near the owners house. Also I live in a different state then the owner so I'm doing all I can to save them.
Persian cat adoption questions?
Does anyone know of any places you can go to ADOPT PERSIAN kittens? I'm capitalizing the adopt and the persian, because i do not want to BUY a kitten, and i have my heart set on a PERSIAN. i've looked many places online but i can't seem to find persian kittens that have the following attributes either gender solid color PERSIAN kitten or at least young. no seniors or adults please in the general vicinity of los angeles any help would be appreciated thank you
Which animal shelters in nyc allow free cat adoption?
I really want to adopt a cat that has all it's shots and is spayed and while I can't afford to shell out 150 200 dollars to adopt it, I can definitely afford vet bills in an emergency, as well as food, liter, and all the other things it would need. Does anyone know of a shelter that does free adoptions? Please let me know of any in NYC, Thanx Susan N. I can afford to take them to a vet in an emergency, and if I had a cat that needed surgery or something else I could afford the surgery if it was thousands of dollars. You completly mis understood the question that I would prefer to not have to shell out money just to adopt, and are you also saying the answer above you isn't valid? I'm so SICK of people being judgmental about animals, some animals need a roof over there heads more badly than a person, if I'm extending myself to help than that should be enough, you have no idea how much I love animals, and I don't need to justify myself because I know the truth
Why would a cat adoption ad be re-posted on craigslist after the owner and I have talked?
Ok, I responded to an ad on Craigslist from a lady who is rehoming her cat due to moving to an apt that does not allow cats. We talked on the phone 3 days ago and I thought we 'bonded', she was in tears as we talked, feeling sad that she has to do this, but saying that she had prayed for someone to call and it was me I noticed the ad was removed from CL later that same morning. She lives about 20 miles away but she will have her son bring her to meet me Saturday morning to deliver the cat. Today, we reconnected by phone to verify the time to meet I then suggested an alternative meeting place that is actually more convenient to both of us, she verified with the son and we agreed it is good to go. Now, I look online and the ad for rehoming the cat is back on craigslist as of 1 2 hour AFTER the phone call in which we just agreed to meet It includes the cellphone number which she just gave me, so I know it is the same lady. Do I call her and ask why??? Maybe she is trying to find someone closer to her to save the trip???? What do you think???It's the same basic ad, but some of the words have changed along with the phone number. The first ad had her home phone, now it has the cell number which she just gave me today. The time on the ad is today at 9 36 a.m. so it was obviously posted very soon after we had just spoken this morning and agreed to meet.Thanks for the concern, but she's not charging for the cat and is including his belongings litterbox, cat tree, food, etc. I am not worried about my safety it's very public where we are meeting.

My mom is in her 70s and has become overrun with cats...most are adopted strays. Despite the work and expense, she is only willing to part with some of them if they will go to a no kill shelter where they can find another good home. I wholeheartedly agree. I am talking about socialized cats, not feral cats, that we would like to see find a new home. I am willing to travel within Connecticut and even to the Springfield Worcester Massachusetts area if there is somewhere that can help. Even placing one cat will be a help. Do they drug the cats at Petsmart's cat adoption events?
I found a stray kitten this spring but couldn't keep him because of my allergies. I luckily found a guy that could keep him until we found an owner for him. This weekend he texted me saying he would be at the adoption event at Petsmart, so I stopped by to meet the cat. The cat's behavior was not anything like it was when I had him. He was sleeping the entire time, I could not wake him up at all. I got him to halfway open his eyes at one point and they were all red and sleepy. This was the case of all the cats there, even the kittens at 9 weeks old were just sleeping the entire time and it was impossible to wake them...
