Why are people adopting pets from the shelter without testing for brucellosis? Don't they care about kids?
Are people just being blind to the fact that it can kill or cause lifelong problems for a child that might catch brucellosis or several other diseases that are not tested for.

Why do people not consider future kids when adopting pets?
I see a lot of people on my local Craiglist page giving away everything from dogs to cats to pythons to goats because they've had a baby and don't have time anymore. When you bring home an animal. you bring it home for life, right? It seems like most people agree to this, but then decide to dump their pets when they decide to start a family. My question is, if you've done this, why did you adopt a pet if you knew you wanted kids? And why did your desire for children override the commitment you made to your animal?

My bunny had a litter of 7 babies and its not her first time. I want a website were i can post them for adoption. I love animals, and I m growing more and more kind and caring toward them... since i do not want to turn into a cat lady or more like a pet lady ? and have hundreds of pets living with me, I was thinking to start taking care of shelters by donating money, food, litter and basically making sure whatever pet is in there gets proper care and never need to be euthanized unless of course it is a must... . What do you all think?PS how hard is it to have your own shelter?
My parents don't believe in adopting pets from animal shelters?
My parents believe that dogs at the pounds would not be familiar with us & would bite us. They wouldn't let me adopt any pets at the animal shelter that is not under the age of 6 months. I know there are plenty of dogs in animal shelters that need to be rescued. I didn't want a puppy because I know that puppies are going to get adopted while the older dogs aren't. But I ended up adopting a puppy off Craiglist. How do I prove to my parents that the dogs at the animal shelters are not mean dogs & would not bite us?
Why do people buy instead of adopting pets?
there is overpopulation,..and many animals who are in need of a home. why do people still do this? I have not adopted an animal from a shelter..but I did rescue kittens on my own and had to keep them because almost all the shelters were full and couldn't take anymore animals in. I find it sad..that these animals don't find homes because of these people breeding them. we already have an overpopulation and a lot of the animals can't find a home..

Age Limit for adopting pets?
Okay so I have a maltese dog and I was trying to adopt a little companion for her and found a nonprofit organization that seemed to fit was I was looking for and had the perfect little puppy. I tried to apply but was denied because they have an age limit? I am 21 and my fiance is 24 turned last week and the age limit requirement for adopting is above 25. I don't understand how that would make me a different pet owner or a better one. Anyway, I was just wondering if this is right or legal? does anyone know? BTW I have had my dog for 2 11 2 years now and have been around dogs all my life...

Does anyone know what shelter/group was adopting pets out from petco on I-45 beside best buy & target(houston)?
it was 5 7 11 there was a small black dog there with three legs and a cone on his head i felt so bad and cried alot...i wanted to take him home that day so bad...i just want to see if he has already been adopted and if not i really want to help this pup but first i have to find where he is....i called petco they were not much help all they said is those people are there every saturday...
