Type 1 diabetic insulin pump insertion site bleeding profusely?
I left my 3mm injection set in for probably 4 or 5 days. I took it out tonight in order to change it. As soon as I did it bled a lot running down my leg, quite a few drops on the floor.. . So my first question is should I worry? It has since clotted nicely despite all the bruising around the site. Any chance of me continuing to bleed internally??

I'm wondering if anyone has any experience with it. Do you bruise up with it like you do with regular insulin shots? Where do you inject it? Can you inject your finger or the palm of your hand or any particular place you choose?My h usband is type 2 diabetic and well controlled with all his meds but we just recently found out that Actos shouldn't be taken in patients with heart disease.I forgot. They claim that Byetta is not insulin.. although you inject it like insulin.

I have looked everywhere so maybe one of you know I am looking for the gun long silver tube that you would crank and hold to your arm push a button and the insulin would shoot into your arm. Again I used this in 1970.
Question about diabetic insulin injections?
My 87 year old father has just been put on insulin for his diabetes, and yesterday the doctor sent him and my mom who is 82 home with the equipment to give him the injections. I have always heard about the danger of air bubbles in the syringe, and last night my mom was giving him his first injection and almost forgot to remove the bubble. Since this is not being injected directly into his veins, is there not too much danger even if she forgot ? I just can't imagine that the doctor would have sent two elderly people home with such a big responsibility if it were that dangerous. But I can totally see my mom forgetting to remove the bubble...

I am looking into getting the insulin pump and want to know exactly how it works? How does it attach to you? How do you use it?Does it really help control your diabetes better? I am a little nervous about getting it, and want to know if it really helps. Not diabetic Insulin Resistant, metabolic syndrome.?
Im 14, I weigh 180 and im 5'6" I was diagnosed with metabolic syndrome and insulin resistant. I am not diabetic. I will have to stop eating starch, sugar and those such foods. My mom and everyone but my grandma on my moms side has type 2 diabetes...I carry extra weight in my belly...so my questions are.... is there any chance i might have to get an insulin pump? will I have to carry around a meter and test strips?
