Im tryin to grow herbs indoors. why r they so thin & frail and stopped growing at about 3inches?
its cilantro. it came in a window sill kit. the pots are like 5inches deep 4inx4in or so, maybe the pots are too small? i sprinkled like 40seeds in there after soaking overnight. after sprouting, they are so thin they are about to kneel over. and they stopped growing. they get some sunlight, but not alot cause i dont have a west facing window.

Why are my indoor herbs dying?
A few weeks ago I bought a very small indoor garden from walmart. It had little blocks of dehydrated compressed dirt, and basil, parsley, and chive seeds. They are aall in individual little pots, and the directions said to keep them inside of this plastic container with the lid on. The first thing that started to sprout was the basil, then chives, and I had to replant parsley. The basil leaves are very very little, about 1 1 2" high, the chives are about 3" tall, and parsley is still very tiny. My basil is dying, the leaves are turning brown, and my chives seem to have stopped growing or something, I put 6 seeds of the chive in each pot following directions and I seem to have like 4 little single leaf of chive. I water them with a spray bottle, but only when the dirt seems to get dry, about every 4 5 days, they get sun, I admit it isn't all day sun, but they get a good 3 5 hrs of sun a day.If someone can tell me what I'm doing wrong or some tips I would greatly appreciate it Thanks so much

What are some unique plants/herbs to grow in Michigan for summer gardens?
I all ready plan to grow some typical stuff cucumber, tomato, spinach, mint, parsley, cilantro, eggplant . But does anyone have any ideas for some really unique healthy things i can grow in Michigan in the summer? Are heirloom tomatoes hard to grow?
How to grow Onions in Container and herbs?
I fianlly have some space to grow a container garden. I have 10 Tomato plants growing, two pepper plants and a strawberry plant. I am wanting to grow some Onions and I have an Aerogarden that came with a herb seed starter kit. I was wondeing, how far apart should I put the onions. I am making some makeshift pots out of those cheap clear plastic drawers you can get at Walmart, the dresser part is broken, that I have on hand. I'm gonna line it with a black trash bag since it is clear and drill holes in the bottom. The plastic drawers are about 10 inches deep and 24x16 wide. How many onions could I grow in 1 of these? I haven't bought my onions yet, not sure what kind is best but most likely I am going to buy sets. Also, I have the Aerogarden herb thing and it has no instructions. I was just wondering how much space I should give each plant when I plant them in pots. It has 6 pods for each kind of herb and It doesn't say what each one is. Do you think I could just get one 3 gallon pot for each herb and plant all 6 pods in each one? Or would that be too much? I think It has dill, 2 kinds of basil, cilantro, and two other kinds of herbs.
What herbs are best for grilling? What can you recommend?
I enjoy grilling and I also enjoy gardening. I'm going to start an herb garden and I would like to find out what are some of the best to use while grilling.I would also like to find some that are hardy in zone 7. They don't all have to be but I would love to have some that come back.Would like some tips or links on how to grow them and how to use them.Any information would be great.
Deer in my herb garden! Help!?
I went outside to water my herbs this morning only to find that deer had chewed off the top of my stevia plant and some of my cilantro I have spearmint and orange mint planted, pineapple sage, dill, garlic chives, lemon thyme and lemon verbena none of these plants seem affected. Is there anything I can do other than fencing off my herb bed to keep the deer from eating my plants?
Herb growth question?
I was looking up herbs to improve my body and I found Suma Root, it sounds amazing, wonderful and everything, I was very excited, however I was wondering if I can grow it in Florida, and if it would do well. I cant find seeds seedlings on any gardening website...
