What would a german shepherd do in this situation?
if it had been walked for forty mins and then left in a room with toys a bed and a radio left on from 9am till 3pm but either my mum or a friend would come in and let it out at around 12 and play with it for 30 minutes it would then be put back in the room until i return at 3 to give another large walk would it be destructive or would the morning walk tire him out we are talking about a puppy it will have plenty of chew toys please help we are planning to get one at the start of summer so this will happen in Septemberlove how most people have a go when im just asking about this L and instead of just putting your words in capital maybe u could suggest ways to MENTALLY stimulate this breed.....
Can you help my german shepherd?
I have a german shepherd & her ears keep breaking out and going really red purple she tilts her head to the side and crys when i try & clean it i keep an eye on her diet & i started her on anti histamines nothing seams to work its also started on her belly and looks very painful. I've taken her to the vets twice & they say its like teen achene, i personally dont think its that.. i hate seeing my dog in pain shes 2 years old, can you help ?

My german shepherd knocked me down?
he's a beautiful pure bred he's 11 months old and already hugh but running through the house he knocked me down and i got hurt, he came back to me, looked at my face and licked my face, do you think he felt sorry? do dogs feel remorse for what they do?yeah thanks I know he is so assertive himself, I think he only ''obeys'' me out of pity for me,I'm an older woman, and I have a large tumor on my kidney, I'm not supposed to get hurt. he's a great guard dog but getting very strong full of energy.
Should i get a german shepherd or a malinois?
im looking for a guard dog, yes the one when a person passes the property and the dog is trained to attack.. but my question is will the malinois do a better job or will the gsd becuse I know breeders are trying to simmer down the aggressiveness in gsds to make them family dogs. So which should i get? and dont worry i will exercise the mal alot. please give detailed answers thanks

Why is our german shepherd so aggressive?
We have a german shepherd, aged 6 7, female. Who is overly possessive, protective? of my mum who would spend most time with her and " hates" the rest of us. More recently she seems to be even more protective and even more on edge with the rest of us. She barks, growls, etc when anyone goes near her without food. We cant have anyone over who she doesnt know or she will go mental barking intimidating them . She refuses to go for a walk with me but does go with my mum , and has been like that for about 4 years, the furthest we've been with her down our road is about 300 yards before she pulls back so much her collar slips off and she runs back to the house. The odd time she'l play fetch well less fetch, than throwing the ball to her as she expects me to run after her chasing her running around the garden . My mum does take her walks in our fields live in country so maybe shes scared? but still not with rest of us. I've never hit her, and although the rest of family denies that they have, i think one of them has but going by their words of her not been hit i dont know whats the matter with her, how we would even solve her problems so she is at least pleasant. At the minute she growls barks when your within about 12ft from her bed and from about 6 foot she bares her teeth and ups the anti, although she does not bite she is intimidating for others, and a pest for trying to go about the house. We'd put her through a training school when she was a pup my mum being the one who took her and recently we got a dog behaviourist type person in who was also no help. unfortunately out cat died about 3 months ago, who has been here before even before the dog, so could more recent increase in aggression be related to grieving? They got along fairly well, the cat always leaving a bit of food for the dog to eat and the dog respecting the cats boundaries etcReally am at wits end here and any suggestions appreciated.Dog went to a weekly training class for i think 8 weeks not sure, was about 4 5 years ago, when she was 1 2 yo. and learnt basic sit, roll over, stay etc stuff.Trainer suggested a check collar choke chain but she pulled back with such force she was hurting herself and not giving in, my mum threw it out deeming it cruel as we have plenty of land to let her run by herself so we've given up on public walks. She has been " all bark and no bite" for years, although she does bark and growl she has never bitten anyone and we trust her not to bite. It is just recently less than 2 3 weeks where she has became as bad as outlined in the above text so please stop suggesting rehoming put down, she is our family pet and i want to know what could have caused her to become so aggressive so recently? note she has not been neutered

My young german shepherd has a lump?
My German Shepherd is about to turn 2 years old and is still fairly young. We just discovered a lump on him on his side about 3 inches across from the point of his elbow. It is about 1 2 a inch tall and wide. We just now found it while petting him, as he is a long haired german shepherd.I made a vet appointment right away just to be on the safe side and his appointment is in a hour. But I just want to try and narrow down what it could be to ease my mind before hand.It moves fairly easy and is under the skin. it doesnt seem to effect him at all. he is a very high energy dog so I do not know if he pulled something and its swollen, I just find it odd is is a perfect ball shaped so im thinking maybe its a fatty tumor? what do you think?He also just threw up but my son fed him a slice of bologna and a piece of spicy chicken nugget with out me knowing and he doesnt tolerate table food very well so now I do not know if that is what caused it or if he is sick?

Help my German Shepherd pees in her crate!?
I just rescued a 7 year old black German Shepherd female... she was set to be euthinized if she didnt find a new home she used to live on a farm with 6 other female german shepherds Rhey were stuck in kennels for most of there lives so they have learned to pee and poop in there crates. Lastnight I took her for an hour walk and she did not go pee or poop.. and i woke up and she did it in her crate instead... what are some ways to stop this behavior or will it ever stop ?
Need help with a year old German Shepherd?!?
Alright, I brother and I always wanted a dog. My brother got a year old German shepherd from one of his friends. This is the first dog my family has ever had, so we've got no experience. We've had for about 4 days now, and it's become completely attached to my brother, and my brother only My brother takes it for walks, and gives it food, and water etc. So it's obvious that it only likes my brother. To be honest, I don't mind. But what I do mind, is the dog being extremely vicious and dangerous around everyone else in the family. Anytime the dog sees me, even from far away, it begins to bark. I've heard that if I feed the dog, and take it for walks, it will get used to me. Problem is, the dog terrifies me. It's bark alone is enough to send me running for the hills. It never barks, only barks when anyone except my brother get's near it. This confuses me because, we did tons of research before getting this dog, and everyone says that german shepherds are ideal family dogs because of their good nature, and they're good with kids? What is this, then? Why is this dog so vicious?? How can I get him used to me? and my family? How can I overcome my fear of the dog and his bark? How can we make him less agressive? Why does he bark at all of our family members? I need help
