My dog is a service dog. She weights 10ib. She needs a dental cleaning, grooming, and up to date shots, heartworm test and medicine, Which organizations would help me, I am a senior citizen, receiving suscedized housing and food pantry help. Question about dog health?
My dog vomited this morning basically just water. She then vomited later in the afternoon some biscuits and grass. Then even later the same water and some bile etc. She is a miniature poodle cross, and has had plenty of energy all day. Can someone diagnose this? or is it nothing?

Are they very common and if so how likely will they require surgery? just estimate or advice ...also are small dogs more likely to have them? How I get stamp from USDA for my dog health certificate?
I am leaving from San Francisco to Hong Kong. The airline told me that I need get a stamp on my dog health certificate before departing. Since the health certificate is only good for 14days before departuring, the time is tight. So what is the fastest way get a stamp from USDA?? Can I fax it to them?? i am currently living in Davis, California
Possible serious dog health issues?
I have a female dog almost 2 years old jack russel mixfor the past 2 days she has had her tail completely tucked but other than that has acted completely normal eats sleeps plays sits lays down just finebut when she when she trys to poo she yelps whimpers really bad and kinda starts to half run while pooing but her poo is large and healthy lookingThe only thing i can think of is that she might have eaten something piece of rope toy, plastic something and its not agreeing with her, is this something common?Also she did pick up worms not long ago though they seem to be absent from her stool since we gave her a dewormer. Also is there something I can do to ease it through for her, food wise or anything, should i take her to the vet and has anyone had something similar happen with their dog?I've already decided to take her to the vet if shes not a good amount better by tomorrow she has had less problems today than yesterday but is still whining with defecation though her tail isnt AS tucked Is there anything you can recommend to help though? something to feed her to help at all like something to help soothe intestinal irritations? Shes only yelped while pooing twice in two days shes defecated more than two times but only cried those two that I saw but its awful to think shes in pain

Dog health question.... is it possible for a dog with joint pain/arthritis to still have bursts of activity?
If a dog has been showing signs of discomfort when laying down sitting and not being able to move as quickly during every day movement, slow to get up etc but then suddenly turns into a 2 year old when a tennis ball is produced and willing to run after it and jump up on chairs to get toys etc as if nothing is wrong?Thanks. The two things just seemed incompatible to me but he is 12 years old now and he has been slowing down gradually for a few months except when it came to chasing a tennis ball and has gotten worse since he was playing a 90 minute session of fetch with my nephew while i was out....I'm putting him on seraquin as soon as i can get it.

Dog health need help, dog now eats,whines, doesnt go out long!?
My Dog is about 10 1 2 years old Shitzu 16pds Male,On Tuesday DEC 13 i took my dog to the doctor because he was shaking very profusely. I usually go take my dog to his regular doctor but his doctor was in a meeting. Took him to see another doctor in the same office. I explain to the doctor that my dog was shaking and it wouldn't stop. The doctor told me it could be that something hurts and will prescribe pain medication and give him a shot of Rimadyl never explain to me this injection only said it is a pain reliever . The next day my dog went back to normal alittle shakes nothing major. The following day Wednesday he started to cry around 9 30am i look to see my dog on the couch i beginning calling out his name nothing happen i pick him up rush him to the car when he woke up. I thought it was some sort of muscle tension. Later on around 4 50pm he began to cry again when my father message his back and fell to the ground and urinated. We rush him to the hospital where another doctor told us my dog may be suffering from Seizure she prescribe a drug diazapan Valium 15mg she told me to cut it in half if he has another episode, she also stated that it had nothing to do with the injection the other doctor gave him and they took blood work. Next morning he had another one but it was different more on the lines where he didn't know where he was and he got up but it seem half his body was stiff he fell urinated and walk again, i though it was nothing serious. Around 2 30 the hospital called stating they need a urine sample because his regular doctor look at his blood work to find he had an infection of high white blood cells. I bring the urine they hand me pills to give him clavamox . The next day Saturday morning he had another one around 10 30 this one lasted about 2 minutes very painful to watch he fell on the floor became stiff and began to stretch. We call the doctor told us we have to wait for the urine work later on in the day. Later on during the day around 1 30pm he had another one which led him to be rush to the hospital.They decide to keep him overnight where they said he had another one same as the other two becoming stiff, than one late which they stated they didn't hear him but they believe it to be nothing more than few seconds nothing serious they told us. They found him to have high enzyme level. The next day he came home suffering no seizure since than, we hope and pray the three medication they gave us help him at the end. One is for his infection which ends this Friday 12 23 2011 the next is for his seizure which end at the end of January. The final one is Steroids for the brain to hope there nothing wrong there that ends next Sunday but on Friday we start skipping a day in between dosages to let him of it easy. The only problem we have is that his appetite grew and i don't want him to become over weight he does seem to consume and empty it every time we walk him. Now though it seems he walks for a few min than wants to come in after doing all his necessity. Hopefully its just the medication and once he is off them he would continue to eat and hopefully not gain to much weight.Does anyone have any advice that would truly be grateful.
Would this be hazardous to my dogs health?
I have two labradoodles, one is of average size and the other a little smaller. I want to have them pull me in a wagon down my street. Would they be able to handle my weight 162 pounds without being hurt if theyre both pulling at the same time?fyi aisha, dog pulled sleds are common in some parts of the world
Non service animals (dogs) health codes?
Is there a health code against non service animals being allowed in retail businesses?I saw a 30 lbs dog non service animal being walked in a Nordstroms department store. This is a high end retailer. I was appalled. Is there a health code being violated here??Nordstroms sells food. They have a cafe inside the store. I was told by a store employee that they were a " dog friendly" store. WTF?? So you don't mind if it pees on a $1,200 dress?I thought for sure there was an actual health code against dogs being in a retail business...This was definitely NOT a service dog. The person was a ultra snotty " my designer dog's poop doesn't stink" person. Please take out the notion that might have been a service animal. I have no problem with trained service animals. I just want to know if there is an actual LAW that precludes " fluffy" from being inside the Nordstroms...
What are your thoughts on hollistic/ natural pet medicines vs. vet meds for dogs health?
I buy trifexis for my dog and he coughs and vomits sometimes which both are known side effects trifexis is a heartworm preventive and flea med. I also gave my other dog.frontline which didn't work and he still is getting hotspots. I have been looking into natural herbal pet meds as an alternative rather the harmful chemical ones from the vet..what are your thoughts on natural pet meds? Have you used any? Were they effective? Do you have any websites that sell them for a reasonable price? Any other recommendations? Thank you in advance
Is this bad for my dogs health?
my dogs favourite toy is a plastic bottle. he loves chewing the cap off and then leaves it there. however sometimes i catch him chew bits off the cap and then swallowing it. now normally i wouldnt be too concerned but he is going threw at least 1 plastic bottle a day and im worried the plastic may be toxic or harm him? it does seem to pass through into his faeces but im still worried. should i be?
