Are you a dog diet expert?
It's Christmas season. What food or treat do you feed or give your dog as a gift for them?

Questions about vegan dog diets?
I was at a small local pet store and there is a new isle completely full of vegan dog diets I can't remember most of the names because they were really long, but most of them has vegan or vegetarian in the name So i have a few questions Is it ok for dogs to eat a non meat diet or is is unhealthy for them? Are they omnivores or carnivores? I believe they are carnivores, but right now i'm just confused Why do people feed their dogs vegan diets? Is it wrong? What do you feed your dogs? just wondering

If I'm going to give my dog diet food, can I just give it to her or should I go to the vet first?
I'm planning on giving my dog diet food, she's a 5 year old Siberian Husky and she's very round. I want to give her diet food but I'm not sure if I should go to the vet and get a recommendation or just get a bag of food myself at Petco. Is it better to visit the vet or is it safe to do it yourself?

Can you add olive/vegetable oil to your dog diet?
Hi, I have a 7 y o female golden retriever rescue. Her weight is about 43lbs. She refuses to eat dog food so we are giving her home cooked food chicken rice either pork liver or chicken liver , 2 capsule of fish oil and vitamin supplement.I know 600 calories per day is not enough to put weigh on her but I just could not get her to eat more. She loves to have lots of bread but I didnt want to fill her hunger with bread even if it is a good source of calories. So right now I am thinking if I could feed her 1 tablespoon of olive oil to increase her calories intake? That should be about 100calorie tablespoon. By the way, she hates fish oil so I dont think she would want cod liver oil in her meal.Pls be do not get mad if you think this question is stupid. I am new at this. I chose the dog because she was in an extremely bad condition so I am just trying to help here. Oh yes, she has just finished her heartworm treatment 1 week ago.

Healthy dog diet question?
For my dog, I like to mix in a few raw healthy foods in with his high quality kibble. I usually put in a tiny bit of diced cheese, a spoon of peanut butter, a few small banana slices, some diced up baby carrots, and some blueberries. i always put everything in very small amounts. for blueberries, id put 8. i put dice only 2 baby carrots. I use the slices of cheese i buy from giant that i use in my sandwich, and i dice one slice into small pieces. my vet said this was a perfectly nice diet. but i wat your opinion do u guys suggest i add more of what i already give, or completely take away something? and i was wondering, what else could i mix into my doggy's food? maybe i should switch it up a little. So what healthy, doggy edible foods can i add to my doggy's kibble? I was thinking maybe a spoon of RAW ground pork a day, is that ok too?please tell me some other foods and what quantity i have a pembroke welsh corgi, i give her a little less than the amount my kibble bag says to give her breeder said so thanksss

Question about healthy dog diet?
I can't seem to find anywhere online a comprehensive list of every vitamin and nutrient dogs need to be healthy. Do they need any nutrients besides what is in their food? If I give my dog some of my fruit and veg smoothie No dairy, pure fruit and veg juice is this healthy for him or not? What about Grains? What about Omega 3 Fatty Acids? I find it hard to believe that all they need to be healthy is the corn and meat that's in their dog food. Any thoughts will help thanks.

What do you think of this dog diet plan?
wanting to come up with a diet for a sighthound i havent decided which breed yet, but ive been to dog shows i am thinking ibizan or pharaoh hound...i'm very active and have plenty of time for the dog and a big fence.well i'm reading a book that recommends a certain amount of calories to get a particular weight and maintain it, also it factors in energy level.it recommends a balanced meal as Meat and vegetables the following are foods that can be used ground meatpastaheartlivercarrotscabbageapplesbannasstrawberriesblack berrierschickenfishboiled rice for dogs with delicate stomachs as a side in with the main food wheat cereal with non lactose milk you can buy lactose free milk, it's the lactose that upsets the dogs cooked scrambled eggs.booked even as an analysis of fresh meats and calories per oz so that you can maintain weight with the dog and see what you need to add or subtract from the diet to get the best results. factors in moisture content, protein & fat Dfor instance it recommends that a 33LB dog thats dieting eat 600 calories rather than 1000 which is the normal requirement but this drop should be done gradually due to every dogs different activity level. i was thinking i could use this with my own dog to add or take away calories when he needs to gain or lose weight. it seems to be a Raw Diet but so few RAW websites ive seen have given me such great details.i was studying and dogs DO actually convert vegetables into ingredients necessary for bodily functions by converting the fat and protein.your thoughts on this diet? do not be rude or insulting i just want opinions not insults or cursing or foul languagebook title for any interested is " the complete illustrated guide to dog care & behavior" by Bruce Fogle D.V.M

For you, what dog diet is best for small breeds?
RAW, kibble, or cooked foods? Explain please. I need some info.

Advice on dog diet/health?
Looking for some advice here, albeit I have flagged this up with a vet before, he didn't actually tell me anything Have a 5 yr old male staff. Good weight, good general health. For well over a year, been feeding him a dried complete food I was told plain old Chappie was better than many. However, every so often, and there can be spaces of many weeks in between, then sometimes three times in one week, this is what will happen.I will feed him at say 10am.As late as 7pm that evening, he will literally bring up the pile of dried food. There is no blood in it or such, however, what often surprises me is that the bits of food are not even digested, you would think that after that length of time, they would have been digested. It is as if this food sometimes sits in his stomach, doesn't properly digest, so it eventually thrown back up, some nine hours later. He last did it three days ago, and as a temp measure, I have taken him off the chappie, and given him chicken and rice. But I know that he cannot go on getting that, can he, albeit he never recycles that hours later.Any ideas as to what this could be, or what he might be able to eat better?

Has anyone ever seen before/after photos of the raw meat dog diet?
My puppy was born a few weeks ago and I bring him home in a little less than a month. I've been looking all over for the ideal diet, and the raw meat diet has me very interested. It makes sense to me.I've seen some really healthy lookin dogs on the diet.It could be cheap. But All I really want to see if some before after photos of a dog who switches to the diet. I'd love to see a healthier coat, less fat, more muscle, whiter teeth, better smelling breath, ect.Looked all over google and youtube and can't find one example. It'd be awesome to see a doggy transformation Thank you so much.

What dog diet do you prefer? Kibble or RAW?
I have 2 dogs, merfy and wacky. Merfy is a lab. And I noticed that she never had a firm stool. Though she eat well, I think her digestive system isn't OK on what we eat while wacky pug is fine. I was thinking if I were to use separate dog diet. Kibble or RAW?
