There are different types of candles- you can find all of the ingredients you need in craft stores, including the wax and the essential oils you want to add to them. It's possible to extract your own scents naturally- grated orange peel,fresh crushed mint leaves, or dried lavender- but the oils give a superior and stronger scent. I make candles either cast from a sand mold- shapes impressed into a deep dish of beach sand- or pour them into a pretty jar. I tie the wick onto a popsicle stick and let it dangle into the container. You would just use a pan you don't particularly need, melt the wax slowly, and add the oil right before casting. Allow drying time, cut the extra wick, and viola! Candle! Have fun! |
