Question: Where can i find support for business start up?

I have a business idea for a shop which I have confidence in and I don't require a business loan to make it happen. My problem is, this is my first time going into business, and I feel very alone in it all and not sure what I should be doing. Where can I receive support and help with the direction I should be taking? I'm not meaning internet pdf files, I would like a real person I can talk to (and yes, I know this will come at a cost) Thanks!

You have local help, just for the asking. Get your phone book out. You have a local SBA (small business association) and a SCORE office, call them, they mentor new entrepreneurs. One or both do free consults. You can also go over to YahooGroups and type in 'small business owners' and see what comes up. You can also find a ton of stuff online--the Pueblo Colorado site has a lot of very good business info to start newcomers off. pueblo.gsa.gov/ cic_shop/ cicshop.htm It's a government site and it's got a TON of things on it. Basic things, but essential. I used them before, as well as got the publications about buying a house, it was good info. I'd also suggest a few publications aimed at small business owners, like INC. Magazine, Entrepreneur Magazine and Fast Times Magazine.
