Question: In some counties govemrent give finacial aid to help new business start up? why might they do this?

Because they feel that their business could aid their economy, improve the countries status on the map ect :)

They weigh up how many jobs you will create with your new business against the cost of paying the same amount of people via benefits.

Because all businesses will eventually have to pay business rates and this is income for local authorities. It also help with employment in the county, which in turn will bring people to the area to work in the start up.

Unemployed people in some country get paid by the government (dole). Employed people pay the government tax, Ni and have money to buy things and pay more stealth taxes.That is the true - but what they say is to improve the economic and the life. Not fully false but the emphasis is in the wrong place as you may read above.
